Add CAT's 50th Anniversary Celebration to your
calendar here:

1. Who is Center for Addiction Treatment (CAT)?
For nearly 50 years, Center for Addiction Treatment (CAT) has provided high-quality affordable treatment for patients with addiction to drugs, alcohol or gambling. Located in Cincinnati just one block from the Museum Center/Union Terminal, CAT annually serves about 2,400 men & women age 18+  with its comprehensive continuum of care.

As the only non-hospital-based medically monitored detox facility in the region, CAT provides individualized care through short-term residential, outpatient medication-assisted treatment, mental health counseling, primary care and a comprehensive family education program.

Support services such as Continuing Care, Peer Mentors and the CAT Alumni & Friends group, plus on-site weekly meetings of Al-Anon and Nar-Anon family groups round out CAT's center of hope.

Today CAT has thousands of alums who are on the path to recovery and leading sober lives. For more information on treatment for alcohol, drug or gambling addiction visit

2. What is the purpose of CAT's 50th Anniversary Celebration?
Opioid addiction has left our community in crisis. We've found ourselves in a place and time where everyone knows someone who is either battling addiction, or loves someone who is battling addiction, or sadly, who has lost their battle. Left unaddressed, this disease has the power to not only kill an individual but to destroy families and tear apart our communities.

But we can change that! By joining us as we celebrate 50 years of Saving Lives and Rebuilding Families,  you'll be a light of hope for the community and to help raise important funds for CAT's lifesaving programs.

3. Tell me more about the guest speaker J.D. Vance
J.D. Vance is an investor, commentator, and author of Hillbilly Elegy, described by the National Review as a "brilliant book" and by the Economist as "one of the most important reads of 2016."

The New York Times Best Seller is about the Appalachian values of his upbringing and their relation to the social problems of his hometown.

Netflix has announced it will soon be releasing a movie based on the book and produced by Ron Howard. The movie stars Gabriel Basso playing the part of J.D., alongside Academy Award Winners Glenn Close who plays "Mamaw" and Amy Adams playing "Bev", J.D.'s addicted mother.
